The Arts and Innovation Center has developed an educational program that combines our Beverage Tourism program with our Clay College Art Program, the perfect pairing! In these 3 hour workshops you'll learn about some of our local wines and wineries—through tasting of course—and then complete a painting or create a piece of handmade pottery. Great for a gift, a date night, or an evening with friends!

Work with an Instructor to create the ultimate wine goblet straight from your imagination! You think it and we can help your idea come to life in clay form! An instructor will glaze your piece and call you to pick it up as soon as it's ready! Limit 15. Must be 21+

CLAY-ACRYLIC-01
Students will explore various color theory relationships and apply them to a simple still life painting to create a vibrant composition.

Week 1 - explore color theory and mixing by completing a color wheel
Week 2 - plan a composition and make a chalk pastel study of a still life set up by the instructor.
Week 3 - 5 - paint a still life composition including under-painting. Elements of painting such a value, contrast and color will be discussed by the instructor and used by students to complete a finished painting. Some materials included. Students must bring materials listed below:
16 x 12 canvas board for color wheel, 1 chalk pastel set with at least 12 colors, one 16 x 20 stretched canvas, paper towels. Acrylic paints as follows: titanium white, alizarin crimson, cadmium red medium, burnt umber, cadmium yellow medium, ultramarine and cerulean blue. Brushes for acrylic painting: 1” flat, several round brushes in various sizes.
